Lorena Surducan grew up in Romania after the fall of communism. Her parents taught her about God and often cried out to Him to provide for their family. While they faced many hardships, they relied on Christ and He was always faithful to provide for their needs. One Christmas Eve, Lorena heard the story of Jesus and received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. Come hear how these simple gifts sent from far away became a specific answer to her prayers.

West Charlton Presbyterian Church is planning a potluck dinner. If attending please bring a dish to pass and your place settings. They will have traditional communion during the service. All are invited to attend an Ash Wednesday service at our neighboring church, West Charlton Presbyterian Church, this Wednesday, February 14 at noon. GUMC will once again be participating in Christmas in Galway, hosted by 3 area churches. Enjoy a tasty treat or sip a warm beverage while enjoying festive music or visit with Mrs. Clause. There will be crafts and activities for any age, raffle baskets at each location, and so much more! Wrap up the afternoon with Christmas cookies, Christmas carols, raffle drawings and passport prize giveaways!
Visit each of the 3 destinations with your Christmas Passport (provided at your first stop) and collect your stamp for a chance to win a prize.

Our annual Harvest Ham Dinner and Country Store is back! Dine in or take-out.
Join us at Dockstader Field for the annual Harvest Halloween Festival. GUMC hopes to kick off our annual Country Store, provide the community with information about our missions and have treats on hand for the kids during the “Trick or Treat” time from 1-4. We are collecting candy. Please leave all donations in the fellowship hall. See Amy if you can help work the table.
Our new Sunday School year begins September 10 during our worship time. All children through 12th grade are invited to participate. Children will begin the church service with their parents. They are released to the Sunday school volunteers following the Children’s Message.
One person’s trash is another’s treasure!!! Think about all the “treasures” you have around your house. You could make it a win/win situation for yourself and a buyer when you participate in the GUMC’s Annual Garage Sale.
The sale will be held on Friday, August 11 from 9-5 and Saturday, August 12 from 9-3. A bake sale will be held both days as well.
